Once a vital navigational aid at the mouth of the humber estuary, the Spurn Lightship is a prominent landmark alongside Castle Street in Kingston upon Hull. It is moored at the northern end of the Marina in the part of the Marina which was originally called the Humber Dock.

Spurn, built in 1927, served for 48 years as a working lightship on the Spurn station and then the Bull station. Sprun was bought by Hull City Council and restored. It is now a source of information about life aboard lightships in the first half of the 20th century.
