This model of the lightship ELBE 1 by Hans-Hermann Sack, was, like the original, built using shadows which were then individually planked. For the deck planks strips of hard wood were used. ELBE 1 was equipped with electronic installations to allow the light to blink and the deck and navigation lights to be illuminated. The bridge has indirect lighting. This is a static model, which should give viewing pleasure under glass. It was built in about 6 months and at 1:100 scale. Here is the website of the ships builder (in German language):
