June 15th, 1912 the contract for the construction of Motorlightship no. I was signed by the Danish Director of Lights and Buoys and Rasmus Møller Værft, Fåborg, Denmark
1913 lightship under construction
August 1st, 1914 handed over according to contract
July 11th, 1915 positioned on Vyl station off Esbjerg
1915 - 1917 Vyl station
April 24th, 1917 because of the danger of mines during WWI, Motorlightship no. I I had to leave Vyl station and was brought to Esbjerg
1918 - 20 laid up in Esbjerg
October 15th, 1920 positioned on Vyl station
1920 - 1930
positioned at Vyl station - only taken out of service for shoter periods for major overhauls or repairs in Esbjerg and Copenhagen, or positioned from time to time at Grådyb and Horns Rev station
1930 - 1932 major overhaul in Copenhagen
1932 - 1939 positioned at Vyl station - only taken out of service for shoter periods for major overhauls or repairs in Esbjerg and Copenhagen, or positioned from time to time at Grådyb and Horns Rev station
1939 because of the danger of mines during WWII, Motorlightship no. I I had to leave Vyl station and was brought to Esbjerg
November 1939 - 1945 stationed in Danish inland waters
December 2nd, 1945 positioned again on Vyl station
1945 - 49 positioned at Vyl station - only taken out of service for shoter periods for major overhauls or repairs in Esbjerg and Svendborg
May 4th, 1949 Motorlightship no. I replaced a German lightship at HR 1 station (Hanstholm Route)
1949 - 52 stationed at HR 1 station
October 24th, 1952 lightship moved to station ER (Esbjerg Route)
1952 - 67 positioned at ER station - only taken out of service for shoter periods for major overhauls or repairs in Esbjerg and Copenhagen
1967 - 68 Nyborg Værft
1968 - 69 positioned at ER station - only taken out of service for shoter periods for major overhauls or repairs in Esbjerg and Copenhagen
August 6th, 1969 placed once more at Vyl station
1969 - 75 stationed at Vyl station
March 8th, 1975 moved to Horns Rev station
1975 - 80 stationed at Horns Rev station
April 17th, 1980 Motorlightship no. I was the last lightship to leave Horns Rev station. The ship was placed as observation ship on Hatterrev and other places
April 2nd, 1981 moved to MØN SE station
1981 - 88 stationed at MØN SE station
March 22nd, 1988


towed from station MØN SE to Holmen, where it was made ready for sale in April

September 16th, 1989 Mr. Knud Enggaard handed over the lightship to the "Foundation for the Preservation and Maintenance of Motorfyrskib nr. I in Esbjerg"

When we visited the lightship today we found out, that the lighttower was freshly painted. They also renewed the lanterns electric and the halogen lamp
