In
the eighties the second life of "Elbe 2" began. A German ship builder
had the ship converted to an elegant passenger sailing ship of luxurious
proportions. The old lady "Lightship Elbe 2" became the stylish
three-masted bark "ATLANTIS". Where in the old days the impressive
light tower had it's place, an ambience was created from selected
wood and imposing maritime elegance.
|
| 1997 |
After
being chartered world-wide and a change of owner "ATLANTIS" is again
available for cruises since the spring 1997. The bark has been generally
restored and renovated with much love and attention to detail. In
spring / autumn she sails in the western Mediterranean, in summer
in the Baltic sea and in winter in the Grenadines - Caribbean. |
| 2005 |
In
2005 the square-rigger was taken over by the Tallship Company. Now
it was time for the ship to undergo a general refurbishment, while
maintaining its unique, classy character. |
| February
2006 |

The ATLANTIS can be found in Harlingen in the Netherlands during
winter times |
| 2006 |
In
2006 the ATLANTIS will again set sail to cruise mostly close to
the Balearic Islands and the Cote d’Azur. |
