In the eighties the second life of "Elbe 2" began. A German ship builder had the ship converted to an elegant passenger sailing ship of luxurious proportions. The old lady "Lightship Elbe 2" became the stylish three-masted bark "ATLANTIS". Where in the old days the impressive light tower had it's place, an ambience was created from selected wood and imposing maritime elegance.
1997 After being chartered world-wide and a change of owner "ATLANTIS" is again available for cruises since the spring 1997. The bark has been generally restored and renovated with much love and attention to detail. In spring / autumn she sails in the western Mediterranean, in summer in the Baltic sea and in winter in the Grenadines - Caribbean.
2005 In 2005 the square-rigger was taken over by the Tallship Company. Now it was time for the ship to undergo a general refurbishment, while maintaining its unique, classy character.
February 2006
The ATLANTIS can be found in Harlingen in the Netherlands during winter times
2006 In 2006 the ATLANTIS will again set sail to cruise mostly close to the Balearic Islands and the Cote d’Azur.
