Moored on station STORBROTTEN, taken to either Mariehamn or Turku for winter
September 16th, 1922 The crew detected a floating mine and attached it to the end of a 50-metre rope behind the vessel. They informed the authorities and waited for specialists to destroy the mine. But weather changed to storm.
September 21st, 1922

The floating mine hit the side of the vessel in heavy weather and exploded. The ship sank and six crew members died. Only one man survived the accident.

The wreck of the lightship was found by divers near Eckerö between Åland and Sweden.
2006 A group of divers filmed the wreck. The film can be viewed at www.youtoube.com
June 15th, 2007

The fog signal bell of the lightship was recovered by divers and can be found in Ålands Sjöfartsmuseum today.
